Who Are These Goobers?

This page is to document the various Homestuck original characters I have created throughout the past years. Most of the ones listed here are going to be repurposed for a future comic, called Somewhere Left of Fir Drive. Every character is a blatant high-school stereotype, though the point of the comic is to see these kinds of people on a deeper level. No harm is meant to be done by visualising groups of people in a potentially negative light. Thank you, and enjoy.

Maci London

Maci is one of three original characters I made through a FarragoFiction generator years ago. His first appearance was in a short discontinued comic called Meanwhile...

Maci used to be a Dave Strider knockoff with a similar personality but different interests (he liked American and stealth and talking eloquently), but over the years I changed him in a lot of ways, and now he is a stoner recluse.

Stereotype: Hippie

Tidbits: Maci hates alcohol due to his abusive family, but smokes pot and weed to clear his head. He always wears oversized clothes, specifically his sweater. He never takes off the glasses. Ever.

Mason

Not every character here has last names yet, and Mason is one of those kids. I originally used him for a gag comic entitled "MAKE STUFF", but he's since appeared in other comics of mine, like Open Session.

Mason is closer to the Dave Strider-y character I wanted Maci to be, but he's got a lot of individuality too. His guise is professionalism, constantly wearing polos and acting above others to try and desperately gain their respect. He's easily swayed, especially by negative speech, and is very competitive.

Stereotype: Coolkid

Tidbits: Mason and Maci are best friends, constantly balancing eachother out in many ways. Mason is heavily religious, and constantly goes to church for advice. He used to live in Texas, and some mannerisms carry over.

Verne Aaldenberg

These next two are the sort of "main characters" of SLoFD, though every character will hopefully get good spotlight. Verne appeared in Open Session first, as an on-the-spot drawing, and it immediately stuck.

Verne is one of the most blatant and obvious stereotypes, being a nerd. He has many fears and interests that are shunned by others but, due to being heavily pampered and spoiled during his younger years, he is unbothered by how his life normally is. His biggest fear of all is change.

Stereotype: Nerd

Tidbits: Verne is highly germaphobic. He also has a fear of needles. He and his brother are both Canadian, and Verne is left-handed.

Lucas Aaldenberg

Lucas is the mainest character of all, and the adoptive brother of Verne. He is also the first character here to only ever be used in SLoFD.

Lucas went through years of bad treatment in various foster homes, never being able to find a bond that would last. Due to this, he has absolutely no cares about the changing tides of the world and can be somewhat pessimistic, the exact opposite of his brother.

Stereotype: Normal Kid

Tidbits: Lucas has no stereotype, because being normal is a stereotype in of itself. Lucas is Canadian, like Verne, but he is also French. Lucas has an affinity for writing and uses it to commentate his own life and those around him. He loves his life but it's difficult for him to say it, or even recognise that he does.

Eden

Eden is another one of the original three, along with Maci and Iris. I never got to her in Meanwhile... and haven't used her since, unfortunately. But now's her time to shine.

She is easily the most intelligent person in her school, but due to being poor she doesn't have the opportunity to go to a gifted school, or enroll in a fancy college. Because of this, she spends all of her time working on various scrap metal inventions to attempt to make money, too worried about the future to focus on the present.

Stereotype: Braniac

Tidbits: Eden made a machine to keep her awake, and it's worked for three months. The only reason she never sold it for cash is because it permanently attached itself to her thigh, and she lost the blueprints. She is also aquaphobic. She might be schizophrenic, but that's probably from the lack of sleep, right?
